    It depends on at what resolution you are shooting. Then divide 16GB by the MB of each picture. ex: if you are shooting at 5mb then you will get approx 3200 pix on the 16GB card. Basic math.

    Page 109 of the owner’s manual for your S230 10MP camera estimates that a 512 MB card will hold about 95 pictures at maximum resolution and maximum quality or 190 pictures at maximum resolution and normal (default) quality. Your card is 32x bigger so you could expect approximately 3040 or 6080 respectively.
