I have a digital camera that works beautifully. I’ve had my PNY SD memory card for almost a year now, however I don’t use it that often. I lost the USB cable that runs from my camera to my computer to transfer pictures, so I recently bought a SanDisk ImageMate card reader as I was advised by a BestBuy store associate (they didn’t carry the cord that my camera uses). I’ve used it twice with success, but recently, when I tried to retrieve images from my card via the reader, I received an error that says “Drive E is not formatted. Would you like to format?” If I click on “no” nothing happens, and if I click on “Yes” another box pops-up saying that the drive can not be formatted. When I put the card into my camera, the pictures show-up fine. I don’t know what’s wrong and I don’t know how to fix it. Please help.
I have taken my card and reader to work, but it still gives me the same error on another computer.
Yes, the reader came with software but the software doesn’t work! There is absolutely NOTHING on the CD – nothing, nothing, nothing! I don’t know if I just received a bad disk or what. I’ve heard SanDisk sucks, and that’s who made my card reader. I’ve also heard PNY, the maker of my card, sucks, too!
I reformatted my card from my camera. That just means to delete all the pictures off of it, right?
I still get the same error when trying to read the card. I put it in with nothing on it, and still the same error. I put it in with new pictures on it, and still the same problem.
Also – thank you for the responses!
